Hospital Bill

Holy shit! We got this the other day...and thankfully it's NOT A BILL!

This is from our jaunt to the emergency room a few weeks ago when J broke his elbow:

So...the pharmacy charge was for ONE dose of lortab. We got a whole bottle of the stuff for $10.

The central supply charge was for the SLING, which was a piece of shit and wouldn't stay on...$47 there.

$171 for the Radiologist to read the x-rays.

And a bargain at only $1544 for everything else in the Emergency Dept.

Yes...insurance is our friend. We'll see how much it costs us...I think $50. Let's hope.

Wow, that is one expensive broken elbow.

This shows the problem with the health care system.

Be careful. Other mysterious "not bills" may show up. Even if you have insurance, sometimes they screw up and send you the BILL anyway.

Doctor
Hospital
Radiologist
Whowever

can have separate bills that are amazing in their latitude.

My friend Rob had the collection agency show up almost a year later asking why he never paid a bill...that he never even got.

BTW, I hope your kid is healing well.
